Spring 2025 Women's Daytime 3.0-4.0 Pickleball League

Notes

Private Club Pickleball League for players with a 3.0-4.0 DUPR rating.

League will run from April 7th - June 27th.

Matches will take place midday with start times between 11 or 11:30 AM. Time is at the discretion of hosting club.
Posted start time is when games should commence.

Teams will be organized in order of strongest to weakest for each round, and will switch partners in format shown below.

League Rules:
  1. Each team match consists of 8 players per team. There will be two rounds per match. Each round is two games to 15, win by 2, with players switching sides after the first game. Game scoring will have a cutoff of 19 meaning the final score may be 19-18.
  2. Players selected for a match should be listed in order of strength by DUPR rating. We know that many ratings will not truly be accurate by the start of the season, so feel free to reach out to coaches for input. The goal is to have as many people as possible with reliability scores of 40+. If you had 8 players with a reliability score of 40+ for a lineup, we would consider that accurate and the lineup should be published in order.
  3. Each game to 15 is worth one point to the overall team score. If the team score is tied at 8-8 at the end of a match, the winner will be determined by total points won.
  4. Each team is permitted one 90 second timeout per game. The timeout must be called inbetween points and prior to the server commencing their serving motion.
  5. Lineups should be set as follows (based on ratings):
    1. Round 1: #1/#2, #3/#4, #5/#6, #7/#8
    2. Round 2: #1/#3, #2/#4, #5/#7, #6/#8
  6. Defaults/Retirements/Subs: If a team doesn't have enough players to field all the lines, they will default from the bottom up. #4 and #8 doubles would be defaulted first in each round. Each game defaulted is worth 1 point. If someone is hurt, and they must retire from the match, the game they retired in will be recorded as a win without a score and as a win for the other team.
    1. Subs may be used in between the first and second to replace a player who is hurt, has to leave early, or if someone didn't show for the first round. A sub may not enter in the middle of a round or game, other than to play socially while other matches finish up.
  7. Coaching is not permitted by teammates/spectators/captains/pros from off the court. It is the home team and captains' responsibility to remind any spectators of this.
  8. When play is over, players are encouraged to play socially as long as they can.
Hosting Responsibilities:
  1. The host club is responsible for making sure the courts are blocked off for two hours and a thirty minute warmup. Matches should start at 11 or 11:30.
  2. The host club is responsible for providing two balls per court. Balls must be outdoor balls, but brand is up to the host club. Captains or acting captains should come get these from the Racquets Shop.
Captain Responsibilities:
  1. Captain's should communicate with the other captains in the league to confirm match day/time at least a week in advance.
  2. Captain's should oversee all player availability and confirm with players that they are available before setting lineups.
